The HYDROS Skimmer Sensor is an essential tool that prevents your protein skimmer from overflowing and causing a mess. It’s easy to use: simply place the sensor inside the collection cup of your protein skimmer, up to ¼” thick, and attach the magnetic coupling on the outside to keep it secure. When the waste level in the collection cup reaches the sensor, it will signal HYDROS to turn off the protein skimmer, avoiding any overflow. This feature only works if your protein skimmer is connected to a HYDROS power source, such as the four-outlet power strip or Smart Plug. The HYDROS Skimmer Sensor is compatible with any HYDROS Sense Port and doesn’t require additional power.
Unlike standard water level sensors, the HYDROS Skimmer Sensor’s optical eye is specially designed for use inside the collection cup of a protein skimmer and is purpose-built for this important task. It’s a compact device, measuring just over half an inch thick and with a magnet side only ¼” thick.
